NIA conducts searches in J&K and arrests two more accused in J&K Terrorism conspiracy case

New Delhi, October 30

The NIA conducted searches at eight locations in Srinagar, Sopore and Baramulla Districts of Jammu and Kashmir and arrested two more persons.

The accused were identified as Amir Ahmad Gojri from Srinagar and Saddat Amin alias Syed Arhan from Sopore. 

The case relates to conspiracy for undertaking violent terrorist acts in J&K and other major cities,   by cadres of Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al Badr and their affiliates such as the Resistance Front (TRF), People Against Fascist Forces (PAFF) etc. 

The NIA had registered the case in October and initiated the investigation. Till now 23 accused persons have been arrested in this case by NIA.

The officials said that the searches conducted led to recovery of electronic devices and incriminating jehadi documents/ posters etc.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that arrested accused persons are terror associates/OGWs of various proscribed terrorist organisations and have been providing logistical and material support to terrorists. 

The NIA is further investigating the case.
