30 Sub Inspectors pass out of CBI Academy

New Delhi, March 1

The Investiture Ceremony of 30 Sub-Inspectors  of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was solemnized at CBI Academy.

Speaking on the occasion CBI Director Praveen Sood congratulated the young officers and their families on successful completion of their multifaceted training offered by CBI Academy. He also complimented the officers and staff of CBI Academy for providing excellent training to the young officers. 

He expressed full confidence that as members of the Central Bureau of Investigation, the officers will put their skills learnt during training to the fullest use in line with the high standards of CBI. Noting that most of the officers are from technical background, he underlined that the knowledge and learning acquired during academics and during the training, will come handy as the officers embark on real part of their learning process when they assume charge.

He also underlined that hereafter everyday and every experience will make the officers more knowledgeable and empowered.

Director Sood also pointed out that the young officers must strive to do their work by employing out-of-the-box thinking and looking for achieving better results through approaching their tasks differently. This will do away with the mundane work by replacing the same by smart work which will yield better results. Director, CBI assured the young officers that in CBI they will find a workplace which is hugely supportive as there are well laid down processes, availability of supervisory officers for guidance and avenues to learn. He pointed out that officers can look to the CBI motto, “Industry, Impartiality and Integrity” as a true source of inspiration and guidance throughout their career.

Calling upon the officers to maintain good conduct throughout the service, Director CBI emphasized that CBI is a place where work needs to be done anonymously and silently, staying away from seeking recognition through external platforms. He pointed out that there are sufficient avenues within the organization for recognition of good work through appreciation and awards by the organization and the senior officers. He also said that as CBI officers are going to be the brand ambassadors of the organization as your conduct and work will always be up for scrutiny by the Court and public which will reflect upon the CBI.

Praveen Sood also stated that CBI offers opportunity for acquiring specific domain expertise in various fields of investigation including Anti-Corruption, Cyber Crime, Economic Offences, Special Crime etc. He advised the passing out officers to work in a manner that they are equipped with specialization of their choice in next 4-5 years of their experience.

During the ceremony, Sood distributed Medals and Trophies to the trainees. 

Jumrani Prince Omprakash was awarded “DP Kohli Award for Best All-Round SI Trainee”. Shri Vicky Raj was awarded with “DCBI Trophy for Indoor Studies” and “Trophy for Cyber Crime Investigation”. Shri Sudhanshu was selected for the “John Lobo Trophy for Best Outdoor” and Shri Ankit Tanwar received the “CBI Academy Trophy for Dedication and Exemplary Conduct”.
