4870 newly recruited constables inducted in Delhi Police

New Delhi, February 25

The Delhi Police, in a spectacular ceremony organised a Passing out Parade of 118th batch of Recruit Constables at Delhi Police Academy, Jharoda Kalan in Delhi. 

The colourful ceremony was held after successfull completion of 10 months basic training at Delhi Police Academy.

Delhi CP, Sanjay Arora took the salute of the marching contingents. The parade was attended by Mukesh Kumar Meena, Special Commissioner of Police, Training, senior officers of Delhi Police and Akshat Mehta, Dean Rashtriya Raksha University, Gandhi Nagar Gujrat and family members of the newly trained constables.  

The strength of Delhi Police will be augmented further by 4870 Constables including 1790 female Constables and 3080 male Constables. The batch is well educated having 09- MBA, 03- MCA, 03-M. Tech, 75-M.Sc, 57-M.Com, 202-MA, 06-LLB, 01- B. Arch, 01-BBS, 03-B. Pharma, 25- BCA, 12-BBA, 158-B.Tech, 07- BE, 01- BDS, 870- B.Sc apart from Commerce & Arts graduates.

The batch consists of 1630 Constables from Haryana, 1371 from Rajasthan, 1135 from Uttar Pradesh, 420 from Delhi, 208 from Madhya Pradesh, 145 from Bihar, 34 from Uttarakhand, 20 from Jharkhand, 18 from Maharashtra, 15 from Himachal Pradesh, 12 from Punjab, 06 from Chhattisgarh, 3 each from Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and Chandigarh, 2 from Kerala and 01 each from West Bengal and Jammu and Kashmir.

During their training, apart law subjects and police procedures they have been taught in subjects like Organisation and Administration, Computer Science, Cyber Crime, Police Behaviour and Social Groups and Police Investigation. They have also been trained in Parade, Un-armed Combat and Firing by modern weapons & skills in anti-terrorist measures. They have been given physical training in Games, Yoga and Gym activities. A 30 days Commando Course was also held for these trainees.  Keeping in view the forthcoming G-20 Summit, an orientation module consisting of soft-skills and   behavioural   training has been given to prepare them for the Summit.

During the parade the oath was administered to the Recruit Constables by the Director, Delhi Police Academy, Sh. Vijay Singh, IPS.

Mukesh Kumar Meena, Spl. CP Training welcomed the chief guest, CP Sanjay Arora, Dr. Akshat Mehta, Dean, RRU & others.  He congratulated the trainees on completion of their basic training and advised on use of modern technology in Police force. With the collaboration in Rashtriya Raksha University, the Diploma Certificates in Police Administration & Investigation has been awarded to the passed out Constables. He also acknowledged the support of the RRU for this initiative.

The Spl. CP, Training Delhi cited that this Passing Out Parade as a proud moment for Delhi Police as this was the largest Batch to pass out at one place after completion of training. It has become history for Delhi Police.

Spcl CP, Mukesh Kumar Meena stated that these Recruit Constables have also been trained to deal with terrorism and riots using latest techniques. He advised the trainees to follow ethics, moral values and knowledge in their duties that were imparted to them during training. They have been imparted training in outdoor activities as well as police procedure.

Meena mentioned that an Advanced Commando Training Center with all latest infrastructures has been developed at Abhanpur, Distt. Alwar Rajasthan and have also started to impart commando training. He mentioned that besides Delhi Police personnel, the Delhi Police Academy is imparting training to the officers and other ranks of other UTs and State Police and other departments. Presently, the Academy is imparting basic training to the batches of DANIPS(Prob.), PSIs, Recruit Constables of Delhi Police, Laddakh Police, NIA and Promotional courses.

CP Sanjay Arora gave the trophies to those who secured good marks in Indoor & Outdoor subjects in the batch and also distributed the Diploma Certificates in Police Administration and Investigation to all the recruit constables of this batch by using Block Chain Technology.  

During his address, CP Arora congratulated all the trainees for outstanding parade and welcomed them in the police family.  He stated that the role of Police is most important in the metropolis like Delhi and they have to sympathize fully with the citizens and the weaker sections. 

He acknowledged the professional challenges faced by Delhi Police such as Terrorism, Citizen's safety especially safety of women and weaker sections and law & order. He appreciated the induction of 1790 women constables in Delhi Police which will surely bring a sense of security in the women citizens of the capital. He also lauded and congratulated the efforts by Delhi Police in ‘Mahila Shasktikaran’.

He appreciated the initiative of Delhi Police for signing an MOU with Rashtriya Raksha University and thanked the officials of Rashtriya Raksha University.

Constable Komal for her overall best performance was given 'All Round Best' trophy by Sanjay Arora, the Chief Guest. 

Other Constables namely Rakhee, Minakshi,Prajitha K., Neha, Neelam, Shiksha and Deepak Kumar were also given trophies for their best performances in Law, Police Behaviour & Social Groups, Police Procedure, Parade, PT, Shooting and Commando training  respectively.


Around 15000 family members & guests witnessed the parade at DPA, Jharoda Kalan. The live streaming of the passing out parade was done through Youtube and facebook online channels.
