CBI books assistant superitendent, two others from postal department in Hyderbad for bribery

Officials of Divisional Office and Circle Office to the Postmaster General, Headquarters Region, Hyderabad demanded of bribe of Rs. 25 lakhs : CBI

New Delhi, May 13

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against three accused from the Postmaster General, Hyderabad Sorting Division for bribery. 

The CBI stated that it was alleged that Officials of Divisional Office and Circle Office to the Postmaster General, Headquarters Region, Hyderabad demanded of bribe of Rs. 25 lakhs from two accused  Contingent Labourers (CL) for appointing  ten Contingent Labourers as MTS.

It is further alleged that one of the accused MTS had given bribe of Rs.2 lakhs in 2022 for himself and Rs. 1 lakh for another accused MTS. The bribe was allegedly given to Assistant Superintendent of Posts at her residence and additional bribe Rs.50,000/- was to be paid for the second MTS later.

The federal agency also conducted searches at three places at Hyderabad on which led recovery of the incriminating documents.
