Delhi Police launch 'Sushiksha' for underprivileged children

New Delhi, March 21

In its continuing endeavor to wean away the youths from crime, East District police has launched an initiative to provide financial assistance to the under privileged children of slum areas of East District in collaboration with “Naad Foundation” a renowned organization, having a strong streak of work in health, education etc. as well as GE Steam Power, one of the leading energy players in the country. 

DCP East Deepak Yadav states that the objective of the initiative is to provide financial incentives as well as post school assistance to the meritorious underprivileged students so that they may not adopt the path of crime.

The initiative has been formally launched in East District under the name “Sushiksha” by Jt. CP Eastern Range,  Alok Kumar in an inaugural function held at Community Center in Kalyanpuri in the presence of  Nishi Singh, Managing Trustee, Naad Foundation, Pramath Nath Tripathi, HR and CSR Leader– South Asia, GE Steam Power and Deepak Yadav, DCP East District.  

The inaugural function started with the lighting of lamps by the chief guest of the event Alok Kumar along with Smt. Nishi Singh, Sh. Pramath Nath Tripathi and Sh. Deepak Yadav. During the event, various cultural activities were also performed by the students participating in the event.  

At the end of the event, representatives of GE Steam Power were felicitated and books and writing material were distributed among the participating children, the officials said.
